Belgorod National Research University recently held the finals of its annual Mr. and Miss International contest, where students from various departments and countries competed for the titles of the most athletic, creative, talented, and educated international students.
The grand finale took place in the university’s concert hall, following a rigorous 30-day preparation period during which participants faced a series of challenges. The sports segment, hosted at the Svetlana Khorkina Sports Centre, tested the contestants’ physical fitness. This stage was co-organized with the BelSU Student Sports Club, which designed exercises to assess accuracy, endurance, flexibility, and resilience.
The intellectual competition, organized by the BelSU Council of International Student Associations, evaluated participants’ knowledge across a range of subjects, including history, culture, art, geography, and the flora and fauna of Russia and other countries. Contestants also showcased their familiarity with facts about Belgorod State University.
The final event coincided with International Students’ Day and featured a vibrant program that included a fashion show, student-produced video presentations, and a talent showcase. The contestants captivated the audience with their dancing, singing, musical performances, recitations, and a variety of extraordinary talents.
‘All the students took their preparation for the competition very seriously. They rehearsed extensively and put a lot of thought into their appearances. They showed as much dedication as we did last year,’ shared Abdellatif Ravda, a finalist from last year’s contest.
In the sports segment, Silla Suleiman from the Institute of Earth Sciences and Amiri Rameen from the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry, and Biology emerged as the top performers.
The intellectual stage winners were Delgado Lara Josué from the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies and Wen Ju Lei from the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations.
