This year, the Russian Government Prizes in Science and Technology were awarded to teams whose innovations have been successfully implemented in key sectors of the country's economy.
Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Russian Government, presented the 2024 prizes to young scientists whose work has made a significant impact. Among the recipients, a team from the BelSU Institute of Earth Sciences was recognized for their development and implementation of a geoinformation system aimed at environmental monitoring and soil protection. This team includes professionals from the Belgorod Agrochemical Service Centre.
The research group, led by Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Sergey Lukin – who is also the Director of the Belgorod Agrochemical Service Centre and Head of the Agroecology Department at BelSU – comprises candidates of geographical sciences Denis Zhuikov and Ilya Kostin, candidate of biological sciences Svetlana Selyukova, and software engineer Elena Malysheva.
Additionally, it is worth noting that Sergey Lukin received a jubilee medal during a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Research and Education Centre, recognizing his exceptional personal contributions to research within the Russian Academy of Sciences.
