Throughout the year, students from all institutes of Belgorod State University have actively supported the local community, providing essential assistance to residents in need.
An award ceremony honouring the university’s most dedicated volunteers took place at the Centre for Project Competences. BelSU Rector Evgeniya Karlovskaya presented certificates of appreciation to the students, acknowledging their significant contributions. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the vital role of the volunteer movement and the selfless spirit of those who offer help without expectation of reward.
“During the morning performance of the ‘Kind Words – Good Deeds’ marathon, I heard someone say that adults are there to create the miracles that children await. However, I believe that it is volunteers who bring about the miracles that both children and adults long for. Even when people may not be waiting or feel too exhausted to hope, you step in to provide support,” said Evgeniya Karlovskaya.
The rector expressed gratitude to all attendees for their outstanding efforts throughout the year. The volunteers were actively engaged nearly every day, offering psychological and legal assistance at temporary accommodation centres, collecting and packing humanitarian aid, and working at animal shelters.
