Belgorod National Research University has launched a Russian Language Class at Al-Mamun University in Baghdad, marking a significant step in its strategy to promote Belgorod State University on the global scientific and educational stage.
The inaugural lesson was led by Associate Professor Marina Droga from the Department of Russian Language, Professional Speech, and Intercultural Communication. Professor welcomed over 30 students from University College Al-Mamun, representing various fields of study.
‘The students enthusiastically engaged with the Russian alphabet, learning to read, write, and speak the language. By the end of the lesson, they were able to introduce themselves in Russian,’ shared Marina Droga, who was scheduled to teach for an additional seven days.
The students took full advantage of the opportunity to ask questions about the Russian language and culture. They received valuable insights from Abdul Walid Latif, an Associate Professor from the Russian Language Department at Baghdad University, who provided significant support during the session.
Marina Droga expressed her gratitude to the students for their eagerness and enthusiasm in learning Russian. She highlighted that the students in the class are not only motivated to explore Russian culture but also dedicated to their language studies, demonstrating remarkable productivity in their efforts. The seven-day educational program will feature master classes in both the Russian language and culture, allowing students to immerse themselves more fully in the rich tapestry of Russian traditions and strengthen intercultural ties. According to BelSU rector Evgeniya Karlovskaya, another Russian Language and Culture Class is set to open soon.
