Belgorod State University has embarked on a new journey of scientific cooperation with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s largest state university.
This milestone was achieved during a recent working visit to Brazil by BelSU’s Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Vladislav Kuchmisty. The primary goal of Kuchmisty’s visit was to strengthen international ties and expand scientific collaboration between the two institutions. During his time at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, he explored the university’s infrastructure and identified its key scientific priorities. In a productive meeting with Papa Matar Ndiaye, UFRJ’s Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, both universities agreed to establish working groups focused on identifying areas of mutual scientific interest.
Kuchmisty emphasized that collaboration in engineering sciences appears to be one of the most promising avenues for both universities. “The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro is not only the largest university in Brazil but also a leading centre for engineering education, boasting a rich history and significant achievements. Partnering with this esteemed institution will enable Belgorod State University to enhance its engineering programs and research initiatives through high-level expertise,” Kuchmisty remarked.
