The contemporary dance team from Belgorod State University recently achieved remarkable success at the “Big Dances” International Festival of Choreography Art held in Yalta.
The festival attracted over a thousand dancers from across Russia, showcasing a diverse range of talent. Representing BelSU was the “Dance Chaos” contemporary dance studio, led by Ksenia Medvedeva. The main cast comprised students from the Faculty of Physical Education, the Pedagogical Institute, the Medical College, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
“We felt a great responsibility on our shoulders. We knew we were representing not just our university but also our city,” shared Ekaterina Kobzar, a member of the team and student at the Faculty of Physical Education. “The team prepared for a long time, and we were determined to perform well. In the end, we succeeded.”
The international panel of judges recognized the skill and professionalism of the BelSU dancers, awarding them an impressive six gold medals and twelve silver medals across various categories. Additionally, the studio received a special prize for “High Performing Skills.”
“I am incredibly proud of my students. Not only did we manage to maintain our shape and support each other during this challenging period, but we also grew stronger and improved our skills. Competing requires a tremendous effort from the entire team, and I am thrilled with our success. Of course, there is always room for improvement and new goals to strive for. For instance, I was truly inspired by the performance of the team from Donetsk,” said Ksenia Medvedeva."
