Young talents from 50 universities across 36 countries attended this event.
Organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the III International Gathering of student Media in the Kaluga region brought together 100 international students and experts, including Mohamed Abdelazim Gaballa Ibrahim Saleh, a student at the Medical Institute of Belgorod National Research University (BelSU).
For Mohammad, participating in the International Student Media was a symbolic experience.
"Representing the Medical Institute, being an active participant of its life and and being a role model for students is my goal in life. The atmosphere here at the gathering is incredible – filled with friendliness, mutual understanding and the energy of young leaders from different countries inspiring new projects," he shared.
Throughout the gathering, aspiring media professionals engaged in training sessions and in teams created videos about the culture and values of Russia. They also competed in personal challenges, presenting their work in five categories: photo, video, text, design or multimedia project. The top team and individual winners earned a press tour to Teriberka, a picturesque village in the Murmansk region.
Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, warmly welcomed the participants of the meeting.
"Today, more than 400,000 foreigners study at Russian universities. They receive high-quality education, master in-demand professions, expand their social circle and immerse in our rich culture, language and traditional values. Over the next few days, you are going to work with relevant experts, explore new tools for media creation, work in the media space, connect with like-minded peers and brainstorm ideas for new projects," he emphasized.
This marks the third time that the Ministry of Education has organized such a large-scale event, following successful gatherings in Serpukhov and Volgograd that welcomed 200 international students from Russian universities.
