Dr. Anna Peresypkina presented her research on retina protection and evaluated reports of Malaysian PhD students.
Dr. Anna Peresypkina, a Doctor of Biological Sciences and Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology at Belgorod National Research University (BelSU), was the sole representative from Russia at the 38th scientific conference of the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology (MSPP 2025) held in Kuala Lumpur.
The three-day event took place on the campus of the International Medical University (IMU) and attracted participants from various countries, including the UK, France, and China. Prior to the main conference, Dr. Peresypkina attended a day of pre-conference workshops, choosing to participate in one focused on statistical data processing, led by Dr. Wan Amir Nizam Bin Wan Ahmad, President of the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology and a n Associate Professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia.
On the first day of the main conference, Dr. Peresypkina delivered a 25-minute presentation in English on innovative approaches to retinal protection and pharmacological agents for treating ischaemic retinopathies. Following her talk, she engaged in a roundtable discussion addressing key issues related to neuroplasticity, neuromodulation, and neuroprotection. Notable participants included Dr. Chi-Onn Leong, CEO of AGTC Genomics, Dr. Norfilza Mokhtar, Vice President for Research at IMU, and Dr. Simon Kennedy from the University of Glasgow.
On the final day of the conference, Dr. Peresypkina served as a board member for Free Oral Communications, evaluating scientific reports presented by PhD students from various Malaysian universities.
