Students at BelSU recently had the opportunity to explore their potential in the field of science during a motivational meeting titled “How to Make Science Part of Your Life.”
This event took place at the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry, and Biology as part of the university’s University Environment series, organized by the Natural Sciences Professional School.
The gathering brought together thought leaders and enthusiastic students, fostering connections between scientific research and student life. Associate Professor Konstantin Boyarshin from the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology at Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) guided attendees through the vast landscape of modern science. He offered insights on how to identify their niche within this challenging yet exhilarating field. Boyarshin shared practical advice on igniting inspiration for scientific research, maintaining enthusiasm while pursuing goals, and, crucially, formulating those goals to facilitate meaningful discoveries. His presentation, enriched with personal experiences, provided invaluable guidance for students contemplating their scientific journeys.
Lyubov Nesteruk, a senior lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology, captivated the audience with an exploration of contemporary molecular genetic research methods. She described these techniques as “molecular puzzles” that enable researchers to unravel some of life's most intricate mysteries. Nesteruk clearly articulated how these methods are applied in current scientific investigations, illuminating new avenues for understanding biological processes and developing innovative solutions.
