BelSU Welcomes Al-Istiqlal University Representative for a Working Visit

During the meeting, Nikolay Tsybulya, Vice-Rector and Director of the International Cooperation Department at Belgorod National Research University (BelSU), and Mohammed Hassan Naji Najajra, Director of the Russian Language and Culture Centre at Al-Istiqlal University, discussed opportunities for expanding academic mobility for both faculty and students. The two parties also explored potential new projects that could be jointly implemented with various institutes at BelSU.

A teleconference with the Sergey Yesenin Russian Language and Culture Centre at Al-Istiqlal University, held at the Mahmoud Darwish Centre for Arabic Language and Culture at BelSU, provided Palestinian students with valuable insights into study opportunities at BelSU, including information on support systems and sociocultural adaptation for international students. In return, Mohammed Hassan Naji Najajra introduced Russian students studying Arabic to summer internship opportunities at Al-Istiqlal University.

Since the establishment of ties between Belgorod National Research University and Al-Istiqlal University, significant strides have been made in scientific, educational, and cultural exchange. With the support of the Sergei Yesenin Centre for Russian Language and Culture at Al-Istiqlal University, the Mahmoud Darwish Centre for Arabic Language and Culture was inaugurated at BelSU. An academic mobility program in Arabic was successfully implemented, allowing ten students from the BelSU Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations to participate. In addition to this, two festivals celebrating Arabic language and culture were held in 2023 and 2024 to commemorate International Arabic Language Day. Furthermore, scientists from the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies at Belgorod State University are actively engaged in joint research initiatives and have collaborated on publishing scientific articles with their counterparts at Al-Istiqlal University.
