Four promising researchers from Belgorod National Research University developed an R&D Strategy that they will present this spring for a prestigious award from one of Russia's largest industrial holdings.
Master’s students from the Department of General Chemistry at Belgorod State University recently participated in a master class at the 28th International Exhibition of Chemical Industry and Science, “Chemistry-2025,” held in Moscow.
The event, organized by EXPOCENTRE JSC with support from prominent institutions, provided a platform for young researchers to showcase their talents and innovations.
The exhibition featured a master class titled “R&D: Strategy,” where teams selected real-world technology cases and developed comprehensive strategy plans. This involved formulating hypotheses, creating process regulations, identifying potential partners, and other critical aspects.
The team of Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) comprised both novice and experienced researchers, all first-year master’s students in the Chemistry program: Ekaterina Migulina, Anastasia Novikova, Alisa Zaytseva, and Alexandra Gomonova. Notably, Alexandra Gomonova, a winner of the UMNIK grant competition from the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises, began developing import-substituting components for dental restorative composites under the guidance of Associate Professor Mikhail Trubitsyn. Ekaterina Migulina, also an UMNIK competition winner, is working on materials with photoprotective properties under the supervision of Associate Professor Olga Kokoshkina.
“Participation in such a large-scale event is a chance to gain real-world experience and knowledge from experienced mentors and experts, as well as to distinguish yourself among talented young people in Russia,” noted Professor Olga Lebedeva, Head of the Department of General Chemistry at BelSU.
The mentors at the international exhibition highly praised the BelSU chemistry team’s preparation. The team will attend a series of lectures to refine their projects further and present their results in the competition for the Titan Group Prize at a scientific and practical conference in Omsk in the spring of 2026.
