The annual Mister and Miss International competition at Belgorod National Research University showcased a vibrant display of talent, creativity, and athleticism, with participants hailing from Angola, Egypt, China, Colombia, Nigeria, Turkmenistan, Ecuador, and South Sudan.
Held at the university’s Concert Hall on Studencheskaya Street, the finals were a grand affair attended by students and guests alike. Nikolai Tsybulya, Vice-Rector of Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) and Director of the International Cooperation Department, opened the event with warm wishes for the contestants.
“I hope all your dreams come true. To those competing today, I wish you victory. And for those who may not win this time, remember there are countless opportunities ahead to showcase your talents,” he said.
The contestants captivated the audience with performances that included dancing, singing, musical instrument play, and eloquent recitations, highlighting their diverse skills. A distinguished jury evaluated the participants, comprising representatives from the Nikolay Strakhov Scientific Library, the International Information Centre, previous contest winners, and Veronika Ivanova, Chairperson of the International Student Office. Additionally, members of the “Preobrazhenie” non-profit organization awarded certificates to all participants for electronics and appliances, while the Association of Students and Graduates of Universities in the Belgorod Region presented flowers to the contestants.
In the sports segment held at the Burevestnik BelSU Sports Complex, Parra Gomez Mariana Alejandra from the BelSU Pedagogical Institute and Abdelgani Aya Reda Kelani from the BelSU Medical Institute emerged victorious. The intellectual stage winners were Kamba Data Tomas Lujang from the BelSU Law Institute and Sun Qin from the BelSU Institute of Earth Sciences. The Audience Award was shared by Santos Cedeño Jesus Antonio from the BelSU Institute of Medicine and Felix Excellent Osebhahiemen from the BelSU Institute of Cross-Cultural Communication and International Relations.
