Participating in large-scale festivals, forums, and scientific-practical conferences, students demonstrated exceptional talent and won several prizes and runner-up positions in national-level competitions.
Four international students from Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) took part in the regional round of the StudRussia All-Russian Competition for international students, organized by Moscow State Linguistic University. Gathering 140 international students from several regions, the competition featured six categories. Representing BelSU were Loayza Solorzano Silvia Fatima from the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations, Ferzhushiya Meriam and Mamatalieva Zarinahon Arraboi Kizi from the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies, and Taljebbinni Abdulrazak from the Institute of Earth Sciences. Outstanding performance earned Taljebbinni Abdulrazzak from the Syrian Arab Republic third place in the “Kindness Without Borders” category.
Ali Abakar Ali and Oloyede Sylvia Oluwafikayomi, guided by Olga Lyutova, Director of the International Information Centre of the Department of International Cooperation and Associate Professor at the Department of Russian Language, Professional Speech, and Intercultural Communication, delivered impressive presentations at the Third International Student Scientific-Practical Conference, “The Russian Language Through the Eyes of Foreigners.”
Additionally, students from the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies and the Medical Institute contributed significantly to the Fifth International Scientific-Practical Conference focused on preserving UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Hosted by Tula State University, this event celebrated its 95th anniversary alongside the 20th International Forum and Festival of International and Russian Students, “All Flags, Come Visit Us.” The concerts included unforgettable performances by Oloyede Silvia Oluwafikayomi and Francisco Dilson Xavier.
Zafimalala Marie Geraldine, a student at the Institute of Social Sciences and Mass Communications, attended the International Introductory Internship “Volunteering Unites” in Khanty-Mansiysk. Competitively selected among 25 students from 17 countries, her experience involved exploring local culture, participating in training sessions, and learning best practices in volunteering and non-profit initiatives.
Sanou Ibrahim Romuald, mentored by Raisa Kuleshova, Head of the Department of Cooperation with Priority Regions and associate professor at the Department of Russian Language, Professional Speech, and Intercultural Communication, represented BelSU at the Second International Festival for International Student Youth of Russia, “Family Values of Different Nations of the World: From Tradition to Modernity.” His presentation, “Family Values of Burkina Faso: From Tradition to Modernity,” reflected his understanding of cultural communication.
Legettas Shaaban, also from the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations, virtually participated in the All-Russian discussion platform “Student Family: Values and Meanings” at Sergey Yesenin Ryazan State University. He explored the intersection of family values between Algeria and Russia.
At the meeting of the Regional Council of Rectors’ Commission on International Cooperation, an award ceremony honoured activists of the International Friendship Club. Students including Loayza Solorzano Silvia Fatima, Sanou Ibrahim Romuald, Farajaeva Maral, Abdellatif Rawda Abdallah Elsabri, Ferjushiya Meriam, and Arina Shestakova received recognition for their dedication to fostering intercultural dialogue and contributing to the club’s events.
“Our international students’ engagement in national and international competitions, forums, festivals, and conferences plays a crucial role in their socio-cultural adaptation and integration into university life and regional youth policies,” emphasized Nikolai Tsybulya, BelSU Vice-Rector and Director of the Department of International Cooperation.
