The students were introduced to a range of contemporary creative workshops that blend art and technology.
In Creative Town, the students from Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) explored various workshops, each representing a unique creative universe. They participated in a doll-making workshop that reimagined traditional crafts with a modern twist. In the arts and crafts space, they experimented with a variety of materials and techniques. The 3D robot-modelling lab allowed them to not only create digital models but also build and operate their own robots. The street art workshop aimed to legitimize street art as a form of study, while the graphic design studio was equipped with all the tools necessary for digital creativity.
Organizers highlighted the multifunctionality of these spaces, most of which can serve as coworking areas for independent project work. The facilities are available for booking for various events, including lectures, master classes, presentations, and creative meetings. They also foster interdisciplinary collaborations, providing a platform for engineers, artists, and programmers to come together and develop innovative projects.
Danil Fischenko, a specialist at the Centre for Youth Initiatives within the Department of Youth Policy and Educational Activities at BelSU, accompanied the students during their visit. He remarked that the Oktyabr Cultural Centre and Creative Town exemplify a new approach to organizing creative spaces—open, technological, and tailored to the needs of modern youth.
“This is a place where not only art objects are created but also professional connections, startups, and bold projects,” Fischenko stated.
