BelSU Futsal World Cup brings international students together as Arab Eagles claim victory.
The roar of celebration echoed through the Svetlana Khorkina Educational and Sports Complex as Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) staged its own Futsal World Cup – a tournament that turned the campus into a meeting place for nations and a showcase of sporting talent.
Seven teams, each representing different nationalities within BelSU's international student community, competed for the title. The event was officially opened by Nikolai Tsybulya, Vice-Rector and Director of the Department of International Cooperation, who addressed the players with warm words of encouragement.
“We are proud that sport at BelSU is not just about competition, but about bringing together students from every corner of the globe. Today, you represent your cultures with pride – and you do it together,” Tsybulya said.
After a series of tightly contested matches, the Arab Eagles team soared to the top of the podium, claiming the championship trophy. The SPL team secured second place, while Arab Lions finished a strong third.
Individual excellence was also recognised. Oucherif Imadeddin of the Arab Eagles was named the tournamen’s best player, with Mushtaha Diaeldin (SPL) and Ababsa Mohamed-Anis (Arab Lions) also receiving honours for their standout performances.
