A series of excursions and educational activities for international students supported by the Gubkin Diocese was finalized at Belgorod State University
In November and December international students of Belgorod State University participated in excursions and educational activities aimed at developing and strengthening international, interethnic and interfaith relations. The excursions were organised by Belgorod State University and “Transfiguration” Gubkin Spiritual and Educational Centre of the Gubkin Diocese.
230 students from Afghanistan, Angola, Brazil, Burundi, China, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Ghana, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Colombia, Morocco, Nigeria, Paraguay, Syria, Tajikistan, Togo, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ecuador accompanied by BelSU tutors visited museums and attractions in Prokhorovka, Yablonovo, Kholki, Kupino, Tula, Odintsovo, Orel and Spasskoye-Lutovinovo. The students had an opportunity to learn more about the history of Russia and Belgorod region from the 16th century to the present day and to get acquainted with the culture of the country and the city.
The series ended with an excursion around Gubkin to visit “Transfiguration” Gubkin Spiritual and Educational Centre of the Gubkin Diocese and a local history quest that included various questions about each district of Belgorod region. The students successfully completed all the quest tasks demonstrating a high level of knowledge about Belgorod region and proving that the excursion and educational activities were very informative.
The students believe that such excursions should be an integral part of getting to know the country and note their positive impact.
