The series of introductory events for the university students from abroad, organized due to the support of Oleg Polukhin, BelSU Rector, has been continued.
From August 16 to 18, international students of the Preparatory Department and various institutes of Belgorod State University visited Moscow and Tula for a sightseeing tour. The tour began in the capital of Russia, where the students visited the Moscow Kremlin, learned about the Orthodox St. Basil's Cathedral building history, the origin of the Minin and Pozharsky monument. The young people were impressed by the Historical Museum, Kazan and Pokrovsky Cathedrals. Few of them knew that the architectural ensemble is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Monument.
During an evening walk to VDNK, the world's largest exhibition complex, which encompasses the territory of 325 hectares, the students got acquainted with the historical pavilions and museums, admired the ponds, parks, alleys, fountains, flower beds and sculptures.
In Tula hero city the international students visited the Tula Kremlin, the Samovar Museum and other attractions. The tour guide paid attention to the fact that Tula is most remembered as a city of gunsmiths, samovars and gingerbread, which was bought by students as souvenirs.
According to Kristina Khabarova, the Director of the Center for Intercultural Communication, such excursions will be held until the end of September. The students will be able to visit not only landmark historical and memorable places of Belgorod region, but also other regions.
