The XI International Summer Language School was finalized at Belgorod State University.
Two weeks of intensive classes enabled the students, participating in International Summer Language School, to improve their level of foreign language skills. Russian students advanced their speaking and grammar skills, while international students mastered Russian language.
Various activities, lectures, workshops and thematic master classes were prepared for the school participants during the school session.
Students learnt about French cuisine during “Everything You Wanted to Know about France” master class, conducted in French by Pavel Ngatheyo, a lecturer of the Centre for Foreign Language Education and Academic Writing. The students were acquainted with a “delicious” presentation on the most popular French cakes, improved their pronunciation by revising dessert vocabulary in French, and discovered many curious facts.
Alessandra Marabini, a lecturer of the Centre, told the school participants about the role of Italian gestures, accompanying the speech. The students listened attentively and participated in “a silent dialogue”, discussing episodes of educational films.
In addition to the language practice, there were sports and creative activities organized. The children did exercises with Marina Kapustina, a Candidate Master of Sports in Kyokushinkai karate, a winner and medalist of international and All-Russian competitions, danced salsa and bachata with the school lecturer Omar Contreras, made paper figures together with Nadezhda Semashkina, and attended the online tour to Velikomikhaylovo Museum named after the First Cavalry Army.
The two-week productive activities were crowned with “Repka” performance by international students.
While summing up the results of the XI school session, Larisa Tsurikova, the Director of the Centre for International and Foreign Language Education, presented certificates to 66 school graduates and wished them further success in studying Russian and foreign languages.
